Background

At Dog Time Sports, we are dog people. The owner/trainer EJ Buchen has had experience in dog training all her life. She became more advanced when challenged with her first Border Collie, Blue. Blue is special in that he has autistic behaviors and requires additional training. EJ attended many classes with Blue using different advanced trainers and has developed a broad knowledge base which includes dog sports. Since Border Collies, like most working dogs, need jobs and exercise EJ worked and competed with Blue in both agility and frisbee. She soon became hooked on dog sports, our family grew to a total of 5 Border Collies, and she expanded to include dock diving where she competes at a national level. Services

Dog Time Sports is unique in that it is like being in your own backyard where you and yours can enjoy private time with your dog for learning, exercise, and fun. We offer private training for obedience, agility, frisbee, dog sports, dog training, and dock diving. We also provide lower priced rental time slots where you can come and use the facility if you just need to practice. We have a large completely fenced area and professional equipment for you and yours to enjoy.

At Dog Time Sports, we invite you to book online appointments for our services whether it be dock diving, dog training, or just dog sports. You can also book a free 15 minute tour of the facilities. We know you will enjoy the expert training, spacious training area, quality equipment, and privacy of our offerings. The prices for training and rental are also very competitive. Our Dogs

Blue

Blue is a rough coat Border Collie that loves agility and frisbee where he has competed at both.
He is the oldest Border Collie of the pack and has special needs which started EJ on her venture to become a dog trainer.
He is the product of Blackie and Shawnee, is half brother to Dakota and Dila and half uncle to Utah.
He was our first dog that competed at dog sports.

Maui

Maui is a smooth coat Border Collie that loves frisbee and dock diving and has many NADD titles.
He is very dedicated to dock diving and loves to compete where he always qualifies for Nationals.
He was our first dog to place in dock diving at a national level.
He is the product of Baloo and Cayenne and is half brother to Utah.

Utah

Utah is a rough coat Border Collie that loves all dog sports including agility, frisbee, and dock diving.
He, along with Maui, has many NADD titles in dock diving and also always qualifies for Nationals.
He is our "Energizer Bunny", never stopping, and is known for his big air whenever he gets the chance.
He is the product of Baloo and Dila, half brother to Maui and half nephew to Blue.

Dila

Dila is a rough coat Border Collie that loves agility, soccer, and nose work.
She is the diva of the crew and loves to prance and show off.
She also loves to sniff up rats where she competes in nose work barn hunts.
When it comes to dog training Dila loves to be trained.
She is a product of Blackie and Tehya, is half sister to Blue, full sister to Dakota, and mother of Utah.

Dakota

Dakota is a smooth coat Border Collie that loves frisbee and soccer.
He is super fast and loves to run and herd the others when playing.
Dakota will be working on dock diving even though he does not seem to enjoy the water much just yet.
He is also our watch dog and has strong protective instincts.
He is the product of Blackie and Tehya, is half brother to Blue and full brother to Dila.

Sidney

Sidney is an "All American" dog that loves agility, catching balls, and nose work.
She came before Blue and was the first dog EJ really started working dog sports and dog training with and then Sidney became the family matriarch.
She has done some nose work and agility but is now retired and enjoying bossing the pack around.
She was a product of a rescue and we love her dearly.

The Staff

EJ Buchen - Owner/Trainer

Hi, I hope to met you real soon. In the meantime let me tell you a little about how I got involved with dog training and dog sports. When I was young I loved animal shows and wanted to able to better relate to animals. It turned out that real world was much different than our vision as children. As children, we all have grand ideas of doing all kinds of fun stuff with our pets. I have always had a dog and through the years I developed an interest in behavior science. I put these skills to work when I got my first Border Collie, Blue. He was very much a challenge and had a strong set of behavioral issues. I went through many classes and seminars in order to work and build a relationship with Blue. Blue has autistic behaviors and learns differently than any other dog I have ever worked with. Through my years of training Blue and I trained and fell in love with dog sports. I have opened Dog Time Sports to celebrate the fun that dogs and dog owners have when participating in dog sports.

Katie Gallant- Handler/Trainer

Hi, I am Katie and I work with EJ, the owner. I have experience with all sorts of animals and I love Border Collies where I own two. I met EJ when she asked me to care for her dogs when she would go out of town. The dogs and I fell in love and I soon became a handler/trainer working with EJ and traveling with EJ too many dog sporting events where I specialize in dock diving. I enjoy working with kids and I am a martial arts instructor for them. I have experience training for dock diving, obedience, and trick. I also rescue dogs and try to place as many as possible in good homes. I am proud to be a part of Dog Time Sports and look forward to working with you.
